Fossil, Oregon Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
community health center in Oregon. Community health centers are mission-driven
nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving underserved populations. Currently,
this health center employs one full-time PA and one physician, who comes
into the clinic for one day week. The patient population includes: 30%
elderly, 95% white. 40% of the clinic's business is Medicare and 30% is
private insurance. The clinic just received a school-based planning grant
and expect implementation in the next 3 years. The school-based site serves
222 students in 3 schools. 1) Act as the sole clinician in a 1 day a week
clinic; 2) Provide additional on-call coverage, to be determined; 3) Extension
of duties into other satellite clinics and the potential to expand to the
sole full-time provider; 4) Help supervise CLIA moderately complex lab
under MD direction. The PA or NP to be hired would work in
the main location and potential satellite sites. The health center is seeking
