Homemade Baby Shower Decorations

Homemade baby shower decorations can not only save you a fortune, but they can also be great fun to make and, unlike Christmas decorations which can be expensive but last you for years, baby shower decorations will generally be used only once.

The first thing you need to do when planning your decorations is to think about the theme for your baby shower. Although it is not absolutely necessary to have a theme, you will find that it is much easier to organize your party around a specific theme and many of the ideas for not only decorations but also invitations, gifts, your cake and much else will flow directly from your theme.

You might for example choose to center your baby shower around Donald Duck, or simply around ducks in general, in which case you will want to look at duck baby shower decorations. Similarly, you might also decide to theme your party on other favorite childhood characters and be thinking about such things as Winnie the Pooh baby shower decorations.

There are of course many very inexpensive items of decoration which you can buy for your baby shower such as colored balloons and ribbons but you will be surprised just how many simple everyday items which you have around the house can also be used for decoration. Just think back to your own childhood and remember how you turned your bedroom into an imaginary castle or a spaceship with bits of furniture, sheets, buckets, brooms and 101 other item you found tucked away around the house.

Decoration is not so much a matter or expense, but a question of imagination and pretending that you are dressing the stage for a local amateur dramatics production can produce some truly amazing results.
